PART-TIME RECEPTIONIST

Job Description: Cure of Ars Church seeks a part-time rectory receptionist weekdays 3:00 PM – 7:30 PM. Duties include answering door/telephone, clerical support, responding to inquiries and requests.

Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking a Maintenance Helper (Custodian Janitor)

Specific Duties

  • Performs cleaning the Pastoral Center offices, hauling and moving of equipment, and grounds maintenance duties.
  • Cleaning duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows and trash removal. Knowledge of waxing and buffing is desirable. Able to lift 50 pounds and able to do snow removable.

Part – Time Parish Faith Formation Administrator

St. Luke RCC Brentwood, NY

Job Description: St. Luke, RC church is seeking a Part –Time Parish Faith Formation Administrator to oversee a narrowly conceived religious education program. Applicant must be fully initiated and in good standing with the Catholic Church, a person of prayer, deeply committed to Catholic doctrine and practice. Appropriate educational background and practical experience will both be considered in selection.

As a member of the parish staff, the Parish Faith Formation administrator reports directly to the Pastor and works with others to form a parish environment characterized by prayer, hospitality, learning, mutual respect, and Christian charity. Applicants should have experience as a catechist, good public relation skills, able to multi-task, as well as process strong organizational and computer skills. This ideal applicant is a Catholic versed in their faith and is able to work as a member of a team with other staff and volunteers. Applicant assists with the schedule of catechetical programs, coordinates calendar events, attends Sunday Mass and is present for group presentations. Applicant must be bilingual in Spanish.

Bookkeeper – Accounts Payable

Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury

Summary of Position:
Full time position Monday to Friday (35 hours). Responsible for all accounts payable payments for The Diocesan Cemeteries.

Requirements:
Two year accounting degree preferable, must have High School diploma plus
at least four years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting related positions. Must be
computer literate in accounting software, excel and word.

Duties:
Accounts payable process through generation of  the disbursement of accounts payable checks for Diocesan Cemeteries; match and collate purchase orders to invoices; verify and or secure appropriate approvals of payables; code invoice expense to applicable GL account; audit and review all invoices;  maintain vendor accounts; prepares all account payable and manual cash disbursement entries for general ledger interface; prepare fixed assets for computer entry; prepare construction in progress schedules; maintain records for issue of vendor 1099 forms; responsible for maintaining all vehicle registrations and insurances; maintain schedules of warranties and service contracts; assist in fiscal closing and preparation of applicable schedules; assume any other appropriate responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.  Must be knowledgeable in and willing to assist with any accounting position as requested. Evening work required periodically, particularly during closing of fiscal year.

Data Base Design/Admin Specialist

Summary of Position:
Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking a Full-Time Data Base Design/Admin Specialist to review, develop and maintain integrated Pastoral Center databases by maintaining a map of DRVC data content/fields, and the related functional/application views. Provide technical assistance in the design of new systems and modifications to existing systems that use corporate data.

Individual will be responsible for administrative duties; project assistance; meeting coordination; follow up; and evaluation of various activities; and will ensure that policies are carried out and goals are achieved in a timely fashion. The position will be Monday to Friday (35 hours). Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of application views of the Pastoral Center data model
  • Design database to support the end users needs and application 
  • Coordinate efforts of project teams in the design or modification of systems where the Pastoral Center databases are involved
  • Develops and recommends analysis, design and programming techniques that insure data and application integrity and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field/certificate in data processing and 10 years related experience; or in lieu of the educational requirement, a minimum of 12 years directly related data processing experience is required
  • Thorough knowledge of various SQL database programming languages and techniques with 5 years of programming experience
  • Through knowledge of systems development life cycle methodology
  • Formal training database analysis and design techniques as well as practical experience in the analysis design and development of database applications with 6 years systems analysis experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in utilizing database CASE tools
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse development
  • Ability to translate abstract ideas into database structures.
