Maintenance Helper (Custodian/Janitor)
Full -time (35 Hours per Week per Week)

Specific Duties

• Performs cleaning the Pastoral Center offices, hauling and moving of equipment, and other simple building and grounds maintenance duties.
• Cleaning duties include mopping and vacuuming floors, cleaning bathrooms, washing windows and trash removal. Knowledge of waxing and buffing floors is desirable.
• Able to life 50 pounds and able to do snow removable.

Property Management Consultant
Diocese of Rockville Centre

The Diocese of Rockville Centre seeks a professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in oversight of property management and real estate transactions. This includes facilities repairs to building envelopes and mechanical/electrical infrastructure, cost projections for repairs, client management and real estate transactions.

Experience in consultant and construction contract management for roof replacement, boiler and HVAC replacement, building envelope repairs (masonry repointing, window replacement), document review, and budget preparation/analysis is essential.

Previous experience managing these types of projects in a non-profit institutional setting is highly desirable, such as colleges/ universities, public schools, and other community facilities. Management of multiple client requests is essential. Computer skill should include creation/ management of spreadsheets, databases and management of project procurement and reporting documents.

Communications Specialist

Position Type: Part Time/Flexible

Summary: The Schools of Saint Mary is seeking a talented individual for a Communications Specialist position located in Manhasset, NY. The Communications Specialist will support the Office of Communications with developing and disseminating relevant information to internal and external audiences through public relations and communications projects and initiatives.

Reports to: Director of Communications

Qualifications:
• 2+ years of experience in communications or public relations in a corporate or not-for-profit organization preferred
• Strong writing, editing and proof reading skills. Knowledge of Associated Press style preferred
• Strong intrapersonal skills, including phone/email skills, and the ability to interact with all departments and levels in the organization, including executives
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, and basic digital photography
• Ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously in an organized and timely fashion
• Initiate productive relationships in a team-oriented environment across all levels within the organization
• Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, prioritize and work under deadlines
• Understanding of Catholic religion, education and teaching practices

Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to developing fresh story ideas to promote mission and programs through public relations initiatives, create and deliver timely press releases with corresponding images, and assisting with researching media coverage and industry trends.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or public relations.

Development Associate

Position Type: Part Time/Flexible

Summary: The Schools of Saint Mary is seeking a talented individual for a Development Associate position located in Manhasset, NY. The Development Associate will support the overall goals of the development team with specific and measurable project-based work.

Reports to: Director of Development and Alumni/Parent Relations

Qualifications:

• High energy, positive, “can-do” attitude, flexibility, teamwork, and attention to detail; high degree of initiative
• Strong verbal communications skills and demonstrated ability to write clearly and persuasively
• Strong event planning skills
• Good computer skills and knowledge of data base programs, specifically EXCEL
• Raiser’s Edge experience a plus

Responsibilities:

• Create office systems to support all Development projects and operations
• Responsible for donor acknowledgments and gift recording, including the management of databases and all records, files, and gift processing
• Manage alumni website and online community
• Run reports from Raiser’s Edge on fundraising progress
• Implement and manage all external communication, such as but not limited to, mailing lists, email lists, donor listings, campaign reports
• Update alumni information on a timely basis
• Support at alumni events, including creation of accurate guest lists and nametags, and attendance at some events for registration support

Associate Director of Faith Formation

The Diocese of Rockville Centre seeks Associate Director of Faith Formation who supports and assists in implementing the mission and vision of the Office of Faith Formation while collaborating in the development of direct and indirect services to the diocesan population.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Contributes and consults on the development and evaluation of Faith Formation strategies and programs for the Office including the areas of family life, religious education, sacramental preparation, adult education and special needs
• Creates and offers workshops in the areas of evangelization, catechesis and technology
• Assists in the development of diocesan-based workshops and conferences
• Collaborates and develops well designed curriculum for courses offered by the office
• Conceives, writes and edits material used in communications for the office
• Ability to articulate the teachings of the church to a diverse population

Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools

The Education Department of the Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking an Assistant Superintendent for Elementary Schools to provide for the support and supervision of Catholic Elementary schools in the Diocese. Reporting to the Superintendent of Schools, he/she will be responsible for providing direction to elementary schools in all areas of school operations; advising and assisting principals in handling administrative issues; advising and counseling parents with school related problems; evaluating principals; planning the Diocesan Teachers Conference, coordinating various meetings with principals and pastors, and assisting in the implementation of the Diocesan strategic plan for elementary schools.

This position requires demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in successful leadership, as well as, a commitment to Catholic Education, understanding of Catholic identity and Catholic school ministry, a Master’s degree, NYS Certification in Administration and Supervision, and elementary and/or secondary teaching experience in a Catholic school. Excellent oral and written communication skills and an ability to motivate others will be required of the successful candidate.

Liturgical Musician for Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, Point Lookout, NY

Summary of Position: (Weekend masses) Liturgical Musician responsible to the Pastor

Duties: Responsible for leading and/or accompanying the assembly for the musical component of weekend liturgies and other holy day services.

Data Base Design/Admin Specialist

Summary of Position:
Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking a Full-Time Data Base Design/Admin Specialist to review, develop and maintain integrated Pastoral Center databases by maintaining a map of DRVC data content/fields, and the related functional/application views. Provide technical assistance in the design of new systems and modifications to existing systems that use corporate data.

Individual will be responsible for administrative duties; project assistance; meeting coordination; follow up; and evaluation of various activities; and will ensure that policies are carried out and goals are achieved in a timely fashion. The position will be Monday to Friday (35 hours). Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of application views of the Pastoral Center data model
  • Design database to support the end users needs and application 
  • Coordinate efforts of project teams in the design or modification of systems where the Pastoral Center databases are involved
  • Develops and recommends analysis, design and programming techniques that insure data and application integrity and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field/certificate in data processing and 10 years related experience; or in lieu of the educational requirement, a minimum of 12 years directly related data processing experience is required
  • Thorough knowledge of various SQL database programming languages and techniques with 5 years of programming experience
  • Through knowledge of systems development life cycle methodology
  • Formal training database analysis and design techniques as well as practical experience in the analysis design and development of database applications with 6 years systems analysis experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in utilizing database CASE tools
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse development
  • Ability to translate abstract ideas into database structures.

Operations Assistant

Summary of Position:

Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation is seeking a Full-Time Operations Assistant who is self motivated and will provide support to the staff as needed throughout all phases of the scholarship and event process.
