Director of the Office of Religious Education
for Diocese of Wilmington

Seeking a full-time professional to develop, implement and evaluate programs for all formal religious education in the Diocese. This is a ministry role responsible for providing leadership to local catechetical leaders, catechist development, supporting parents as partners in religious education, and organizing and directing religious education workshops on both the diocesan and regional levels. The Director will represent the Diocese at various functions, communicate professionally in writing and verbally on behalf of the Diocese, and partner with Catholic Schools, Youth and Young Adults, Marriage and Family Life and College Campus Ministries.
The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
•    Practicing Catholic
•    Master’s Degree in Religious Education/Theology
•    Knowledge, skills and abilities obtained through 5 years of parish and 3 years of diocesan level experience; or equivalent
•    Broad knowledge of catechetical issues
•    Ability to travel regionally

Bookkeeper – Accounts Payable
Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury

Summary of Position:
Full time position Monday to Friday (35 hours). Responsible for all accounts payable payments for The Diocesan Cemeteries.

Requirements:
Two year accounting degree preferable, must have High School diploma plus
at least four years’ experience in bookkeeping and accounting related positions. Must be
computer literate in accounting software, excel and word.

Duties:
Accounts payable process through generation of  the disbursement of accounts payable checks for Diocesan Cemeteries; match and collate purchase orders to invoices; verify and or secure appropriate approvals of payables; code invoice expense to applicable GL account; audit and review all invoices;  maintain vendor accounts; prepares all account payable and manual cash disbursement entries for general ledger interface; prepare fixed assets for computer entry; prepare construction in progress schedules; maintain records for issue of vendor 1099 forms; responsible for maintaining all vehicle registrations and insurances; maintain schedules of warranties and service contracts; assist in fiscal closing and preparation of applicable schedules; assume any other appropriate responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.  Must be knowledgeable in and willing to assist with any accounting position as requested. Evening work required periodically, particularly during closing of fiscal year.

Part –Time Bookkeeper

The Diocese of Rockville Centre seeks a professional, full-charge bookkeeper to work with select parishes within Suffolk County. Position requires an experienced bookkeeper who has the knowledge of computerized accounting systems, bank reconciliations and account analyses. Proficiency in Excel and Word required.

Associate Director of Faith Formation
The office of Faith Formation seeks an Associate Director for Adult Faith Formation to support and assist in the implementing the mission and vision of the Office of Faith Formation while collaborating in the development of direct and indirect services to the diocesan population.

Duties & Responsibilities:
•    Responsible for the oversight and management of programs related to the faith formation of adults, focusing on parish level and regional level adult formation programs
•    Directs the Pastoral Formation Program for English speaking Adults under the leadership and direction from the Director of Faith Formation
•    Collaborates with the Director of Faith Formation to maintain and oversee the curriculum of the Pastoral Faith Formation program
•    Consults with the Director of the Office of Faith Formation on selecting presenters for various adult faith formation programs, classes, and weekend experiences
•    Oversees the Basic and Advanced Religious Studies Programs
•    Monitors the performance of the presenters and the progress of participants in the program
•    Assists the Director of Faith Formation with creating the budget for the department
•    Arrange and promote various renewal programs to parishes including programs in scripture
Service Requirements:
•    Practicing Roman Catholic
•    Personal commitment to a life lived in adherence to the tenets of the Catholic Faith.
•    Commitment to the handling of the faith under the leadership of the Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre

Credentials, Experience, and Commitment:
•    MA in Theology and/or  MA in Education
•    5 + Years experience in the field of adult catechesis
•    Experience with curriculum development preferred

Liturgical Musician for Our Lady of Miraculous Medal, Point Lookout, NY

Summary of Position: (Weekend masses) Liturgical Musician responsible to the Pastor

Duties: Responsible for leading and/or accompanying the assembly for the musical component of weekend liturgies.

Position Requirements: Looking for a musician with strong and confident playing ability. A guitar or piano player who can lead cantors, or sing themselves leading Mass musically. We are looking for more contemporary music so a versatile playing background would be helpful.

Data Base Design/Admin Specialist

Summary of Position:
Diocese of Rockville Centre is seeking a Full-Time Data Base Design/Admin Specialist to review, develop and maintain integrated Pastoral Center databases by maintaining a map of DRVC data content/fields, and the related functional/application views. Provide technical assistance in the design of new systems and modifications to existing systems that use corporate data.

Individual will be responsible for administrative duties; project assistance; meeting coordination; follow up; and evaluation of various activities; and will ensure that policies are carried out and goals are achieved in a timely fashion. The position will be Monday to Friday (35 hours). Some of the responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Assist in the development of application views of the Pastoral Center data model
  • Design database to support the end users needs and application 
  • Coordinate efforts of project teams in the design or modification of systems where the Pastoral Center databases are involved
  • Develops and recommends analysis, design and programming techniques that insure data and application integrity and efficiency

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field/certificate in data processing and 10 years related experience; or in lieu of the educational requirement, a minimum of 12 years directly related data processing experience is required
  • Thorough knowledge of various SQL database programming languages and techniques with 5 years of programming experience
  • Through knowledge of systems development life cycle methodology
  • Formal training database analysis and design techniques as well as practical experience in the analysis design and development of database applications with 6 years systems analysis experience
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in utilizing database CASE tools
  • Knowledge of Data Warehouse development
  • Ability to translate abstract ideas into database structures.
