"In this trying time that our country is going through, we Catholics and especially we students, have a serious duty to fulfill:  our self-formation." PGF

Bl. Pier Giorgio Frassati was raised in an environment which could hardly be called Catholic; his father, in fact, was an atheist.  So how was it that he became such a devoted follower of Christ?  No matter what our circumstances, God can form us if we are open to hearing His Word.  Pier Giorgio, even as a child, had an open heart and mind to the things of Christ.  As he grew, he formed himself with study, prayer and adoration of the Blessed Sacrament.

How much time have we given to our own spiritual formation?  Investing some of our day to have a better understanding of our Christian faith can only benefit us, as our faith should have a profound impact on our lives.  The more we read and absorb the life of Christ, the more we grow in Him.  Our belief and our search should never be confined to Sundays alone; we should have encounters with our living God every day!

Because that is the point:  ours is a living faith, one which grows moment by moment.  There is never a part of our day which God is not present to.  There is never a time when He cannot be reached.  So pick up that Bible, open a good spiritual book, get on your knees, take the class, join the group, say the prayer - seek Him and find Him!

Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
