Mother Teresa completely trusted God for all things in her life. When she was waiting for permission to start the Missionaries of Charity, she was asked to write a detailed plan for the new order. She was anxious to begin her work with the poor and very frustrated at these long delays and seemingly endless red tape, but still she trusted and prayed: "My God - give me your light and your love to be able to write the things to Thy honor and glory. Don't let my ignorance prevent me from doing your Will perfectly. Supply...what is wanting in me."
It is easy to say that we trust God, but do we trust Him when things don't work out as we hoped, planned or desired? When our backs are up against a wall, do we trust still? We need to become like the father in the Gospels who wanted his son cured, and cried out to Jesus, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" (Mark 9:24) Jesus did heal that little boy, and he wants to heal us, as well: "Everything is possible for him who believes." (Mark 9:23) It is when we are in the most desperate situations that we must trust and pray all the more...We do believe, Lord, help our unbelief!
Bl. Mother Teresa, pray for us!
