Prayer is the search for God who is in heaven and everywhere, since He is infinite. The person who does not pray cannot live in God's grace. (St. Gianna Beretta Molla)
Here St. Gianna tells us that prayer is a search for God; and isn't that true? When we attempt to pray, aren't we seeking God, looking for answers or trying to search His heart? Father! Where are you? I believe Help my unbelief! We long for a concrete image, a God we can reach out and touch.
If our prayer is a seeking then it leaves open endless possibilities, because St. Gianna reminds us the One whom we seek is infinite. We open ourselves to all that God has to offer us, and His ways are higher than our own. (Isaiah 55:9) Every holy connection we make reveals a new path, a new way to proceed with our life. Our lives should be a constant striving towards the divine.
As Lent progresses, may we continually search for God, and may we begin our quest down on our knees.
St. Gianna Beretta Molla, pray for us!Â
