West Islip, NY 11795 – On Wednesday, June 15, 2011, Our Lady of Consolation Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Center will host their 17th Annual Celebration of Life Reception at Timber Point Country Club in Great River. This year Dennis J. Verzi, immediate past President and Chief Executive Officer of Our Lady of Consolation was chosen as the 2011 recipient of the Celebration of Life Award. “Dennis Verzi has been chosen to join our growing list of distinguished honorees in recognition of his outstanding stewardship and dedication to the mission of Our Lady of Consolation”, stated Sr. Marilyn Breen, Administrator of Our Lady of Consolation.
Our Lady of Consolation established the Celebration of Life Award in 1994 to recognize individuals and businesses in the local community for their contributions to the vitality, quality of life, and economic growth of Long Island. Mr. Verzi, who is presently the Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, believes in staying connected and helping his local community. He was an active member of the HIV/AIDS council for the City of Yonkers and served on the Board of Directors of his local parish. Mr. Verzi presently serves on the Police Auxiliary for the City of Long Beach currently holding the rank of Sergeant. Keeping connected and helping with the community is an important part of his vision. Our Lady of Consolation is a 450-bed nursing and rehabilitative care center conducted in the tradition of the Sisters of St. Dominic since 1894 and is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations (JCAHO).
