Rockville Centre, New York, July 19, 2006 – Telecare, the television station of the Diocese of Rockville Centre on Cablevision channel 29, needs audience members for its brand new game show.
Debuting this October, “Divine Intervention!” is based off of classic TV game shows like “Concentration” and “Jeopardy” and hosted by a priest who brings together Catholic life and pop culture. Contestants play for prizes and viewers can play at home.
“It’s a fun way that people can learn about the Catholic faith,” said Chris Frederick, creative operations manager at the station. “It’s different than anything that has been on Telecare.”
Father Joseph DeGrocco, a professor at the Seminary of Immaculate Conception in Huntington, N.Y., will host the show.
Frederick described Father DeGrocco as “fun and charismatic – the perfect priest for hosting this game show.”
Telecare is seeking lively audience members over the age of 13 to join them during the morning and early afternoon at its studio in Uniondale from August 16-18 and 21-25 and on August 28.
