"Like obedient children, do not act in compliance with the desires of your former ignorance, but as he who called you is holy, be holy yourselves in every aspect of your conduct, for it is written: Be holy because I am holy." 1 Peter 1:16
To follow the way of the Saints, and the holy path that God wants us to follow, may seem impossible at times - how can we be as faithful and accomplish as much as they have? How can we hope to be Saints? But it doesn't matter the number of good deeds that we do, or how generous in the world's eyes they appear to be. What matters is that we do these good acts, no matter how small, with a grateful, loving heart and in thanksgiving to God. Each tiny step towards Christ has infinite merit in His sight.
Bl. Pier Giorgio realized this: he cared for widows and their children, visited the sick, and for the most part many of his friends and family did not even realize the extent of his merciful acts until after his death. Today, do a small act of kindness from a heart full of love - and may your day be blessed with the holiness of God.
Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
