|Mother-Daughter Tea to Prepare Girls in the Diocese for|
ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NEW YORK, June 12, 2007 – The Respect Life Office will host the third annual Mother–Daughter Tea on Saturday, June 30, from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at St. Agnes Cathedral Parish Center, Rockville Centre, N.Y.
The program will feature speakers on the topics of God’s gift of human fertility, the menstrual cycle and its physical and emotional effects, the sacredness of human life, the importance of the mother–daughter relationship and healthy self esteem for girls ages 10-12 and their mothers or adult female guardians.
Msgr. Francis Maniscalco, director of the Respect Life Office, said the goal of the program is “to promote education with young people about issues such as chastity, respect for life and respect for their own bodies.”
Last year’s event attracted about 200 people in the diocese.
