WHAT: |
The Most Reverend William Murphy, Bishop of the Diocese
of Rockville Centre, will preside at a ribbon-cutting
ceremony and blessing of a new state-of-the-art
FieldTurf® multi-purpose athletic field and track at St.
John the Baptist Diocesan High School. FieldTurf
artificial turf is the same playing surface found in
many NFL stadiums. The new track is a certified
400-meter polyurethane surface.
Donors to the “Visionary Fund” who helped raise money
for the track and field will be invited onto the field
for the ceremony, which is part of the school’s
homecoming celebration.
Homecoming festivities at St. John’s will begin with a
breakfast and then Mass at 10:30 AM in the auditorium.
Following the dedication, blessing and homecoming
festivities, the St. John the Baptist Cougars will play
the Falcons from Cardinal Spellman High School, Bronx,
New York.
