WHAT: |
Approximately 1,400 seventh-grade students from 34
Catholic elementary schools in the Diocese of Rockville
Centre will participate in the Fifth Annual Technology
Day at Adventureland in Farmingdale.
When students arrive at the park, each will have in hand
a workbook filled with learning activities connected to
the 12 rides that will be operating that day. These
activities will direct students to study the rides,
observe engineering design principles such as structure,
safety, accessibility, etc. and use problem-solving
skills to complete the activities.
Unlike most family trips to Adventureland, students will
be looking at the rides from an educational perspective
as opposed to solely a recreational one. Do not be
surprised to see students spread out among benches and
tables with paper, pencils, calculators and stopwatches
in hand. |
