ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NEW YORK, April 28, 2005 - The Respect
Life Office of the Diocese of Rockville Centre is
inviting mothers and their daughters between the ages of
ten and twelve to explore the beauty and wonder of God’s
plan for growing up and becoming a woman at a
Mother-Daughter Tea at the St. Agnes Parish Center in
Rockville Centre on Saturday, May 7, from 1:00 p.m. to
4:00 p.m.
Topics include God’s gift of human fertility, the
menstrual cycle and its physical and emotional effects,
the sacredness of human life, the virtue of chastity and
the importance of the mother-daughter relationship.
Presenters include a school nurse, the Sisters of Life
and a representative from the Maurer Foundation for
Breast Health and Education.
Mary Bossart, co-director of the diocesan Respect Life
Office, said they decided to initiate this program
because “children need to learn about growing up from
their mothers and fathers, and the diocese wants to
support parents in teaching their children to have a
healthy respect for their bodies and the gift of life.”
The cost for the program is $10 per family and
reservations are required. For more information contact
