WHAT: |
“Back to Basics” Seminars with
Monsignor Joseph Champlin.
Msgr. Champlin will conduct two seminars dealing with
parish stewardship, one in the afternoon and one in the
evening. The first will deal with “Financial
Stewardship,” and the second with “Time and Talent.”
Both sessions begin with meals and are designed for
parish administration and committees. The $225 parish
participation fee will be waived for those parishes
connecting with the 2006-2007 Diocesan Parish
Stewardship effort.
Pre-registration is required.
Between the seminars there will be informational
presentations by professional representatives on how to
start a parish-based automated giving program.
Rector of the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in
Syracuse for the past eight years, Msgr. Champlin has
written dozens of articles and authored more than 40
books on topics including the Mass, prayer and marriage.
Msgr. Champlin’s regular radio spot, titled "Spiritual
Suggestions for a Stress-Filled Society," is heard
regularly by more than 100,000 people. After Vatican II,
Msgr. Champlin was named the first secretary of the
Diocesan Liturgical Commission and served in the Office
of Liturgy at the National Conference of Catholic
Bishops. |
