Tickets for Papal Mass on Sunday April 20, 2008
|

Ticket Update : March 19, 2008
Further information
regarding tickets and transportation to the Solemn
Pontifical Mass at Yankee Stadium will be made available in
early April.
On Sunday, April 20, 2008, His Holiness, Pope Benedict XVI
will celebrate a Solemn Pontifical Mass at Yankee Stadium
(sometime in the afternoon). Our diocese has been
given a limited number of tickets to distribute to the
faithful. They have been appointed by lottery.
Due to the restrictions that have been placed on attendees
by the United States Secret Service and the New York City
Police Department, each ticket will be issued to a named
individual – tickets are non- transferable (similar to an
airline ticket). Everyone entering Yankee Stadium needs
to have a non-transferable ticket and will be required to
show a government - issued photo identification card
(passport, driver’s license) and will be subject to search
by either the Secret Service or the Police Department.
It is anticipated that the local networks will provide
extensive coverage of the Papal visit including the
Pontifical Mass in Yankee Stadium. As details are
finalized they will be posted on the diocesan website, so
check back periodically for updated information. For
further information you can also visit the New York
Archdiocesan website at
www.Archny.org.
Please keep the Holy Father, this Papal visit and the needs
of our Church and world in your prayers.
