WHAT: |
The Most Reverend William Murphy, S.T.D., L.H.D. will be
the guest speaker at the next Faith-on-Tap meeting.
Faith-on-Tap is a Catholic forum for young adults in
their 20s and 30s, where they gather together monthly in
a friendly atmosphere to hear informed speakers and
discuss questions concerning faith and morality –
primarily on topical issues of concern to young people
as they try to make their way in new careers and chart
the course of their adult lives. It was started on Long
Island as part of Our Holy Redeemer Catholic Church’s
ministry to young adults. Bishop Murphy will answer
questions provided by the young adults.
Faith-on-Tap sessions are held on the last Monday of
each month. The friendly atmosphere is conducive to
conversation and socialization before and after the
meetings. Faith-on-Tap is a place where serious topics
are discussed intelligently and intelligibly, in the
hope that young adults may gain, or regain, confidence
in their capacity to discern the truth about themselves,
their world, and how they should try to live their
lives.
Previous Faith-on-Tap guest speakers have included:
Detective Steven McDonald of the New York City Police
Department, The Sisters of Life, Bishop Emil Wcela and
Joseph Varacalli, Ph.D., director of the Center for
Catholic Studies, Nassau Community College.
