O my Jesus, each of Your saints reflects one of Your virtues; I desire to reflect Your compassionate heart, full of mercy; I want to glorify it." (Diary)
St. Maria Faustina Kowalska had a deep desire: to be a reflection of the Mercy of God.  When we think of reflections, we know that some can become distorted.  The tiniest pebble dropped in a pool of water can alter the entire surface.  So, too, with reflecting Christ.  For St. Maria Faustina to truly show His mercy she had to keep her heart fully aligned with His.
What of us?  Do we reflect Christ in our daily lives?  Do our actions, do our words?   Those tiny pebbles of gossip, jealousy, immorality, selfishness, and hatred can spoil that likeness which we want so much to cultivate.  Scripture tells us:  "But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the desires of the flesh ." (Romans 13:14)  Yes!  To reflect Christ we must "put him on" - by prayer, by the Sacraments, by reading His life, by dying to ourselves.
Today in the mirror, look through yourself and see the image of your Savior, an image of Love for you to present to the world.
St. Maria Faustina, pray for us.
