High School Vocation Retreat

Saturday, November 17th – Sunday, November 18th
Seminary of the Immaculate Conception

The Vocation Office is inviting young men of high school age from all across Long Island to join Seminarians and priests from our diocese in a weekend retreat at the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington. The retreat will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday and conclude with a noon Mass on Sunday

The retreat will offer time for prayer, Mass, and socializing, along with open discussions on the priesthood.  How one knows God is calling him to be a priest, what the real life of a priest is like, and how a person becomes a priest, will be just some of the topics covered.

The Seminary, which recently celebrated it’s 75th anniversary, is situated on more than 216 acres of land, and is home to the men of our diocese who are studying for the priesthood.  Each participant on the retreat will have  a private room and bath.  There is no fee to attend this weekend, but pre-registration is required. 35th Annual March for Life * Washington, D.C.

Monday, January 21st - Tuesday, January 22nd

Our time in Washington will include participation in the pro-life vigil Mass at the National Basilica, as well as participation in the annual March for Life. This national pro-life event will offer a memorable experience for future Catholic leaders. We will leave New York on Monday and return on Tuesday evening. This event is geared for men of college-age or older who are discerning a call to the priesthood.  The time will consist of morning prayer, a conference, a question and answer session, celebration of the Eucharist and lunch. Bishop Murphy’s Lenten Vocation Retreat

Friday, February 29th – Sunday, March 2nd
Seminary of the Immaculate Conception

Bishop William Murphy, along with priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Rockville Centre are conducting a retreat for men interested in a possible priestly vocation.

Open to Roman Catholic men of mature high school age (juniors and seniors), college age, and older, this retreat is for those who might benefit from hearing more about the priesthood and use the experience in their future discernment of a vocation. Priests, seminarians, and discerners will join together with Bishop Murphy for a weekend of prayer, conversation and community.

The retreat will run from 5PM, Friday, February 29th and conclude after a noon Mass on Sunday, March 2nd.  This weekend will offer time for prayer, Mass and socializing, along with open discussions of the priesthood.
