WHAT: Tsunami Relief Benefit Concert - Featuring classical and popular music to raise money for the on-going effort to rebuild the areas in South East Asia affected by last month’s tsunami. Coordinated and programmed by Michael Scarola, a well-known New York City-based stage director and a former cantor at Blessed Sacrament R.C. Church, the evening will feature the talents of his colleagues from the Metropolitan Opera and New York City Opera. Scheduled to appear are Carol Meyer, Hanan Alattar, Angela Fout, Kathryn Friest. Anna Vikre, Caroline Worra, Sandra Piques-Eddy, James Schaffner, Jason Currie, Ryan Allan, Mark Risinger, Kyle Pfortmiller, Rod Nelman and Peter Volpe.

Tickets are $20.00 for adults and $10.00 for senior citizens and children. Tickets can be purchased in advance or at the door. All the money collected will be given directly to relief efforts.

About The Diocese of Rockville Centre
The Diocese of Rockville Centre was formed in 1957 and covers 1,222 square miles in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. The diocese serves approximately 1.5 million Catholics (total population in both counties is approximately 3 million). There are 134 parishes in 119 towns. Last year over 21,000 baptisms, 18,000 confirmations, 21,000 first communions and 5,000 marriages took place in the diocese.
