"The joy of the Lord is my strength."  (Nehemiah 8:10)

This scripture verse must have been a favorite of Pier Giorgio's, as he loved a good laugh and was known for his keen sense of humor.  His friends have told many stories of the practical jokes he played on them!  He was joy-filled because he knew that he was doing his best to follow God's plan for his life, moment by moment.  Christian joy is not dependent upon our circumstances, but upon our knowledge of a God who loves each one of us.  No matter what happens in our lives, we can be assured that God knows all about it!  He walks with us through it all.  Then, when we can rest in His arms, we will have a joy which penetrates our being and hopefully shines out to others.

The other secret to a joyful life is remembering this simple acronym, by which we know Pier Giorgio lived his life:piergiorgio.jpg

Bl. Pier Giorgio, pray for us!
