World Youth Retreat: Witness the Spirit

On July 18-20, DRVC Youth Ministry and the Youth2000 New York office will be sponsoring a World Youth Day themed retreat at Kellenberg Memorial High School in Uniondale, NY. There will be music, food, small group discussions, Eucharistic Adoration, Mass and talks led by the Franciscan Friars and Sisters of the Renewal, Msgr. Jim McDonald (Rector of the Diocesan Seminary of the Immaculate Conception), recently ordained Fr. Joe Fitzgerald of St. Kilian's Parish in Farmingdale, and other local Long Island speakers. There will also be an electronic video link with Bishop Murphy and the group of diocesan youth pilgrims in Sydney, Australia.

All high school aged youth and young adults are invited to attend. Cost is $60 per participant. Call 718-349-1157 or e-mail yth2000ny@aol.com to register by July 16. Each group of 7 youth under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone 21 or over. Friday night check-in begins at 6:30 pm. More information can be found at www.drvc.org or www.youth2000ny.com.
