West Islip, NY – Theresa Jacobellis has been appointed director of public and external affairs for
Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center. Previously director of public affairs for Huntington Hospital, she brings 25 years of related experience in public relations, marketing, social media communication and grant writing. In her role, Jacobellis will oversee marketing, government and public relations, community health, volunteers and special events at Good Samaritan.
She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and Public Relations Professionals of Long Island. In addition, Jacobellis is public relations chair of the Nassau Suffolk Hospital Council. She has presented lectures on grant writing and social media and has published several articles on electronic communication in health care marketing.
Jacobellis holds a bachelor’s degree in broadcasting and film and a master’s degree in health communications from Boston University. She resides in Centerport with her husband, Steve Taranovich, and their three children.
Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center is a 537-bed (including 100 nursing home beds), voluntary, not-for-profit hospital located in West Islip.
