RE: Naming of New Bishop of the Syro-Malankara Eparchy of Saint Mary Queen of Peace of the U.S. and Canada and the naming of the first bishop of the New Eparchy in Parassala, India.

Most Reverend John Barres, Bishop of the Diocese of Rockville Centre offers prayers and warm congratulations to Bishop Thomas Mar Eusebius Naickamparambil, bishop of the Syro-Malankara Eparchy of Saint Mary Queen of Peace of the United States and Canada, based in Elmont, New York.  It was announced on August 5, 2017 that with the assent of Pope Francis, Bishop Eusebius was elected as the first bishop of the newly erected Eparchy of Parassala, India.

The Holy Father has also given assent to the nomination of the Most Reverend Philipose Mar Stephanos Thattathil, up until now auxiliary bishop of Tiruvalla, India as the next bishop of the Syro Malankara Eparchy of Saint Mary Queen of Peace of the United States and Canada.  Bishop Barres, along with the clergy, religious and laity of the Diocese of Rockville Centre warmly welcome and congratulate Bishop Philipose Mar Stephanos and wish him the fullness of God’s blessings as he begins his Episcopal ministry in the Eparchy of Saint Mary Queen of Peace.
