Rev. Msgr. James McDonaldROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – 30 June 2009 – The Most Reverend William Murphy, Bishop, Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, appointed Rev. Msgr. James McDonald pastor of St. Aidan parish, Williston Park.  Msgr. McDonald was the rector of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington since 2006. 

He has previously served as pastor of St. John the Evangelist parish, Center Moriches (1990-2000) and St. Matthew parish, Dix Hills (2000-2006).  He was associate pastor at the parishes of St. Matthew’s; St. Aloysius, Great Neck; Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Lindenhurst; St. Joseph’s, Kings Park; and Ss. Cyril and Methodius, Deer Park.  From 1988-90, he served as administrator of St. John the Evangelist before being named pastor. 

Msgr. McDonald has also served the diocese as coordinator of the Bishop’s Annual Appeal (now known as the Catholic Ministries Appeal), associate vocations director, and as diocesan director of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and the Apostleship of the Sea.  Msgr. McDonald was ordained a priest in 1967 and received papal honors with the title of monsignor in 1996.
