West Islip, NY 11795 – On September 22, 2011, Our Lady of Consolation Nursing & Rehabilitation Care Center hosted an Open House for their Rehabilitation Department. Members of the community were invited to attend a demonstration of our newly renovated gym offering state of the art rehabilitation for patients with Orthopedic, Neurological, Pulmonary and Amputee needs.  Our new Guldmann Active Trainer allows patients the unique ability to perform restorative therapies while limiting weight bearing. The Guldmann Active Trainer has shown positive outcomes with patients using their Ceiling Lifts and Active Trainer Slings to increase mobility and improve their speed of recovery. At Our Lady of Consolation we offer short-term and long-term rehabilitation therapy. Our goal is to assess and treat each patient as an individual and restore their function aiding in the transition back to the community.
