WHAT: Pentecost Sunday Mass

Bishop Murphy invites everyone to join him and the bishops, priests, deacons and religious of the diocese as he presides at Mass in celebration of Pentecost. 

Bishop Murphy announced this special Mass in his pastoral letter, “Belong More Deeply” and said the purpose is to “invoke the Holy Spirit on our diocese as we all open our hearts to implement the new Roman Missal.  In that way we make this a new moment of experiencing God’s love and bearing witness to our life of faith.”

The Diocesan Choir will provide the choral music for this special liturgy.

WHO: The Most Reverend William Murphy, bishop, Roman Catholic Diocese of Rockville Centre, will be the principal celebrant and homilist. 

WHEN: Sunday, June 12, 2011 – gathering begins at 2:30 p.m.; Mass begins at 3:00 p.m.
