| Description: |
Suffolk County Police will discuss how to respond appropriately to concerning statements about schools posted on social media, along with the potential consequences of making such posts. The session will also address what steps to take if you or your child sees or receives these types of comments online. An overview of the Suffolk County Police Department’s investigation procedures will be provided.
Planning and practice keep schools safe. Schools are safe. It is important not to live in fear. We will talk about the difference between lockout and lockdown. It is easy to get the words mixed up especially in the height of a situation. The evening will end with information about the Suffolk County Police response and our roles in schools. |
