Father Smith Recognized by Scouts
At its Biennial Conference in Albuquerque New Mexico, The National Catholic Committee on Scouting awarded Father Kevin Smith the Brother Barnabas Founders Award, the highest award given by the National Catholic Committee on Scouting. Brother Barnabas McDonald was a member of a religious community commonly known as the Christian Brothers and is remembered as a driving force in establishing a relationship between the Boy Scouts of America and the American Catholic Church.
In his name, the award recognizes individuals who have significantly affected the course of Catholic Scouting through long and meritorious service.
