St. Gertrude’s Preschool is seeking a teacher for the 3 Year Olds Program. We are seeking an experienced teacher who is compassionate, caring, understanding, and able to create a joyful, stimulating classroom for our 3 year old students. One able to guide their social, emotional and academic growth; preparing them for Kindergarten and beyond.
This 10-month position is Monday - Friday, 9:15AM - 12:15PM, and reports to the preschool Director. Compensation is $18 hourly.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans in literacy, math, science and art.
- Create a nurturing, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
- Facilitate small group and independent play.
- Monitor and record child development and progress.
- Communicate effectively with parents and staff.
- Maintain an organized and sanitary classroom.
Qualifications:
â—Ź Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field.
â—Ź Prior experience working with pre-school aged children.

School Social Worker Program – 2026-2027 School Year
The Diocese of Rockville Centre Department of Education seeks part-time social workers for a one-year grant-funded program. Recognizing our Catholic faith as the foundation of this important work, the successful candidate will be able to conduct and support counseling for students in our Catholic elementary schools. Additionally, he or she will also serve as part of the school’s crisis intervention team.
Job Expectations:
- Conduct a comprehensive needs assessment of the school in coordination with the building principal.
- Provide in-service workshops and presentations to school faculty and staff about mental health topics.
- Develop a comprehensive list of student resources.
- Support the school’s online presence as it relates to positive mental health opportunities.
- Develop a periodic newsletter with mental health resources and updates for students, parents, families and the broader school community.
- Develop student intervention plans as needed.
- Organize and lead student support groups as needed.
- Meet regularly with building principal to determine mental health needs and targeted improvement
- Advocate for school, families and parents with local school districts, parishes and community
- Be present at extracurricular events to interact with students, families and school personnel.
Qualifications:
- LCSW, LMSW, certified School Social Worker, School Psychologist
- Understanding and appreciation of Catholic Social Teaching in areas of poverty, dignity of human life, sexuality and community participation
- Passion for the empowerment of adults and young people in the school setting
- Prior school experience preferred; IESP / 504 knowledge is a plus
- Bilingual social workers encouraged to apply
- Experience with evidence-based crisis-intervention models is a plus
Work Schedule:
- 3 days per week based on the school’s start and end time (typically 7:30am - 3:30pm).
- Can be combined with another elementary school in the diocese to make a full-time position.
- 10 month position: September through June.
- This is a 1-year grant-funded opportunity for the 2026-2027 school year.
Salary:
$25K - $30K (for a 3-day, part-time, salary). Salary is paid over 12 months.

Preschool Teacher – St. Anthony's Pre-School, Oceanside, NY
St. Anthony’s Pre-School is seeking a passionate and dedicated preschool teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a love of working with young children and creating a nurturing learning environment while fostering a deep awareness of God’s presence. This 10-month position is 4-5 days weekly based on school’s start and end time.
Compensation is $20 - $22 per hour
